Radiation-hardened polarization-maintaining fibers (PMFs) are critical for the performance of high-precision fiber optic gyroscopes in space. This study analyzes long-term radiation-induced attenuation to correlate ground-based irradiation tests with in-orbit telemetry. These findings optimize the selection of fiber components to ensure sensor reliability and lifespan under harsh space radiation conditions.
