This research evaluates the Total Ionizing Dose sensitivity of commercial photonic integrated circuits (PICs), including tunable lasers and couplers. By assessing Indium Phosphide and Silicon Nitride components, the study aims to reduce size, weight, and power consumption for spaceborne hardware. The findings help qualify PICs as reliable, cost-effective solutions for future modular space systems.
