Optical high-speed serial links (HSSLs) replace electrical interconnects to overcome data rate, crosstalk, and cable length limitations in satellite payloads. These links support multi-Gbps data transfer between processing units, storage systems, and optical intersatellite terminals. By implementing robust optical interfaces, missions can handle the vast data throughput generated by modern Earth observation and communication payloads.
