Microwave photonic beamformers provide a lightweight and energy-efficient solution for frequency-agile satellite payloads. By leveraging the broadband nature of photonics, this unit enables squint-free beam steering and simultaneous frequency up/down conversion for phased array antennas. The technology significantly increases signal directionality and spectrum adaptability for next-generation LEO communication systems.
