This bi-wavelength autonomous payload enables the on-board generation and detection of entangled photon pairs for space-based quantum networks. By overcoming the distance limitations of terrestrial fiber-based systems, it facilitates ultra-secure encryption and distributed quantum computing. This technology is a critical component for building hybrid quantum communication infrastructures like the European EuroQCI network.
