The adaptation of a high-energy MOPA laser system allows it to serve as a reliable pump source for water vapor LIDAR missions. By scaling the pulse repetition frequency to 200 Hz while maintaining high IR output power, the laser achieves the necessary performance for frequency-converted detection. This engineering model transition proves the versatility of existing pulsed laser architectures for multi-mission atmospheric science.
