This approach to nulling interferometry employs high-performance, closed-loop phase control on a secondary beam path to achieve the high-contrast imaging necessary for characterizing rocky exoplanets. By utilizing dichroic beamsplitters for precise wavefront control, the system effectively suppresses host star light at mid-infrared wavelengths. This method pushes the diffraction limits of current space telescopes, enabling the resolution of faint planetary signals.
