This technology leverages Linear-mode Avalanche Photodiode arrays (LmAPDs) based on bandgap-engineered HgCdTe to provide high-sensitivity, photon-counting performance for astronomical imaging. The latest ROIC design allows for tiled array configurations and flexible readout modes, including non-destructive and read-reset-read sampling. These advancements significantly improve signal-to-noise ratios, enabling the detection of extremely weak photon signals during long exposures.
