SINDAR is a software-based atmospheric characterization technique that extracts turbulence metrics directly from existing adaptive optics (AO) telemetry. It eliminates the need for additional hardware sensors, enabling accurate monitoring of optical channels. The method provides precise equations to calculate single-mode fiber coupling efficiency, directly improving the predictability and performance of ground-based laser communication systems.
