Experiments between JAXA's LUCAS terminal and European ground stations explore techniques for maintaining optical links at low elevation angles. By mitigating atmospheric turbulence and channel impairments, this research aims to significantly extend the communication windows for both NGSO and GEO satellites. These efforts represent a critical step toward expanding global geographic coverage for high-speed space-to-ground optical networks.
