The Dual Babinet Pseudo Depolarizer developed for the TRUTHS mission mitigates polarization-dependent errors in hyperspectral imaging spectrometers. By arranging crystalline quartz wedges into two bonded pairs, the system generates spatially varying phase retardation to reduce the degree of polarization. The design and manufacturing process ensure high SI-traceable radiometric accuracy for long-term climate monitoring missions.
