The Laser-Occultation (LasOcc) method repurposes inter-satellite optical links to probe physical atmospheric parameters such as refractive index turbulence. By analyzing optical signals at the Kármán line, this tomographic approach achieves higher spatial resolution and precision than traditional microwave-based radio occultation. It provides a powerful new tool for mapping global atmospheric turbulence and climate dynamics.
