In 30 seconds

This project delivers a compact, radiation-tolerant frequency comb optimized for low-SWaP requirements in space-based optical clocks and time-transfer payloads. The system utilizes fiber-based femtosecond mode-locked lasers and miniaturized nonlinear broadening to enable high-precision frequency synthesis in orbit. This technology is vital for coherent frequency dissemination across distributed satellite constellations.

Spotlight

Potentially cross-cutting precision-photonics talk spanning metrology, timing and future instruments. Worth advancing because frequency-comb capability can enable multiple mission classes rather than one application.
