Custom optical transceivers developed under the ESTOL specification provide a reconfigurable, interoperable digital signal processing architecture for satellite-to-ground links. By addressing the complexities of diverse optical waveforms in a unified DSP layer, this approach simplifies hardware integration for next-generation non-terrestrial networks. This technology facilitates scalable, high-capacity, and low-latency communication between spaceborne and terrestrial systems.
