This in-fiber emulator performs hardware-in-the-loop testing by generating programmable optical power vectors that replicate complex channel impairments. It accurately simulates atmospheric scintillation, uplink-downlink asymmetry, and pointing jitter for diverse communication scenarios. This capability provides a standardized method for validating optical terminals and forward-error-correction schemes before flight.
