This propagation delay method allows for the indirect measurement of tip and tilt modes from a sodium laser guide star, overcoming the limitations of point-ahead anisoplanatism. By integrating the wavefront sensor's derivative measurements and correcting for centroiding errors, it enables accurate uplink pre-compensation. This significantly improves link reliability by preventing the deep signal fades typically associated with high-altitude turbulence.
