CIAO (Compact Innovative Adaptive Optics) is a low-cost, modular system designed for small-aperture telescopes. Using a piezo-electric deformable mirror and a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor, it enhances ground-based performance for both astronomical observations and satellite tracking. Its SWIR variant demonstrates a 7dB mean absolute loss improvement under strong turbulence, optimizing fiber coupling efficiency.
