The Diffractive Wavefront Sensor (DWS) uses a Liquid Crystal on Silicon Spatial Light Modulator (LCOS-SLM) to achieve superior resolution compared to traditional Shack-Hartmann sensors. It maintains robust performance even in the presence of central obscurations or secondary mirror support structures. This technology is highly suitable for aberration sensing in medium-to-large scale space telescopes.
