Silicon Pore Optics (SPO) represent a breakthrough in modular X-ray focusing technology, enabling a large effective area exceeding 1 m² at 1 keV for the NewAthena mission. By leveraging semiconductor manufacturing techniques, these lightweight modules achieve imaging quality superior to traditional shell optics. The nested Wolter-Schwarzschild shell configuration allows for highly scalable production, providing the resolution needed to analyze high-energy spectra from cosmic sources.
