NewAthena integrates several hundred Silicon Pore Optics modules using specialized facilities designed for high-precision co-alignment. The VERT-X facility enables routine X-ray testing of these modules in a vertical orientation, supported by an advanced rail-transfer system to correlate performance with UV optical data. This strategic co-location of integration and test environments ensures the structural and optical integrity of the modular mirror assembly before flight deployment.
