A new lunar-Earth communication architecture is being developed to overcome the bandwidth limitations of traditional radio-frequency systems. The concept deploys relay satellites in elliptical lunar frozen orbits equipped with hybrid RF and optical terminals to support multi-Gbps data rates. This infrastructure is designed to enable high-resolution imaging and real-time scientific data return for next-generation lunar exploration programs.
