The Astromux project validates the use of commercial Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) components for space-based inter-satellite links. By leveraging Thin-Film Filters and athermal Arrayed Waveguide Gratings, the system increases link capacity while reducing total mass and power consumption. This research paves the way for cost-effective, high-throughput optical communication in LEO constellations.
