This compact Fast Steering Mirror design integrates an optical position sensing mechanism directly into the mirror substrate. By allowing partial transmission of the beam to an underlying sensor, the system eliminates the need for external beam splitters and simplifies alignment. This integrated architecture provides real-time, closed-loop control of beam direction while reducing overall system complexity and optical loss.
