Mitigation of straylight-induced radiometric errors is essential for accurate far-infrared imaging in deep-space thermal instruments. The implementation of broadband black coatings within the optical cavity suppresses spatial artifacts and temperature biases caused by internal reflections. This precise control is critical for planetary missions like E-THEMIS, which require high-fidelity multi-band data to characterize cold bodies.
