An Inter-Satellite All-Optical Network (ISAON) architecture utilizes Wavelength Selective Switches to route WDM channels directly in the optical domain. This eliminates power-intensive and latency-prone optical-to-electrical-to-optical (O/E/O) regeneration processes during data relay. The approach provides a scalable and efficient infrastructure for high-throughput, low-latency communication within large-scale satellite constellations.
