This research establishes a framework for performing Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) from orbit to enable non-contact elemental analysis of airless planetary surfaces. By modeling plasma emission and detection feasibility in vacuum, the study provides the analytical basis for wide-area orbital remote sensing. This capability removes the requirement for lander-based surface operations, enabling efficient global chemical mapping of planetary bodies.
