This nowcasting toolchain uses all-sky imagery and far-infrared cloud assessment to provide real-time, short-term predictions of cloud cover for optical ground stations. By correlating historical cloud masks with satellite ephemerides, the tool provides a quantitative measure of link availability across different geographical climates. This capability enables more accurate planning and operational scheduling for space-to-ground optical communications.
