TRUTHS was designed as an SI-traceable metrology laboratory in orbit to provide unprecedented radiometric accuracy for Earth observation. The payload utilized a Hyperspectral Imager and a Cryogenic Solar Absolute Radiometer to achieve 0.3% absolute radiometric accuracy. These capabilities would have enabled superior cross-calibration of other satellite missions and high-fidelity monitoring of the Earth's radiation budget.
