The MOHA fiber optic harness on the SMOS mission validates the long-term reliability of optical technologies in space after 15 years of continuous operation. Using FASTRAD simulation software and CAD modeling, the study quantifies radiation exposure to assess degradation levels in optical fibers and components. The results provide critical benchmarking data for ensuring the longevity of fiber-based payloads in long-duration LEO missions.
