This adaptive optics system utilizes a real-time controller to mitigate atmospheric turbulence and optimize single-mode fiber coupling for ground-to-space links. By accurately predicting and compensating for phase distortions, the system enables stable, high-bandwidth data transmission. This development is essential for making free-space optical communications a commercially viable and reliable alternative to radio frequency links.
