The Quantum Eye for Satellite Autonomous Navigation (QE-SAN) utilizes a visible-spectrum pulsar signal detection method to improve satellite positioning accuracy. By employing a 28-cm telescope coupled with a single photon avalanche photodiode, it achieves a higher signal-to-noise ratio than traditional X-ray pulsar systems. This approach allows for smaller, feasible sensor payloads, facilitating quasi-autonomous navigation for standard satellites.
