This study analyzes Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) interference as the fundamental mechanism for Bell-state measurements within satellite-based quantum networks. By utilizing an entangled photon source in orbit and measurement units on the ground, it evaluates the feasibility of quantum teleportation and entanglement swapping. This research provides a framework for assessing link budgets and architectural requirements for future quantum repeaters in space.
