This project presents a compact, space-qualified polarization encoder specifically designed for DV-QKD on SmallSat missions. It addresses the need for scalable and manufacturable quantum hardware to overcome the attenuation limits of terrestrial fiber networks. By miniaturizing critical quantum components, it enables the practical deployment of global-scale, satellite-based quantum key distribution.

Spotlight

Compelling because it combines quantum communications with qualification and SmallSat-scale implementation; stronger than a purely laboratory QKD paper if the qualification evidence holds.
