THORMUX utilizes integrated microwave photonics to develop tunable photonic-integrated circuit filters on Si3N4/SiO2 platforms. By processing RF signals in the optical domain, this technology provides flexible spectral resource allocation and high selectivity for Ka, Q, and V band satellite payloads. It significantly reduces system size, weight, and power consumption compared to traditional electronic filtering.
