Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) face significant optical response degradation in space due to Radiation Induced Attenuation (RIA) and Bragg wavelength shifts. This study characterizes how manufacturing processes and radiation-hardened designs influence FBG signal-to-noise performance. Understanding these radiation-induced effects is critical for ensuring the longevity of photonics-based sensors and communication systems in orbital environments.
