To restore imaging performance degraded by launch-induced focal plane displacement, this study introduces two point spread function (PSF) based on-orbit calibration strategies for the FORMOSAT-8 remote sensing instrument. These methods bypass the environmental unpredictability of ground-based target imaging, allowing for precise determination of focal plane shifts in the 70–120 μm range. Implementing these techniques ensures that high-resolution sub-meter imaging is maintained throughout the satellite mission lifetime.
