Phase Diversity (PD) is an active optical post-processing technique used to correct thermo-optical aberrations in solar space instruments. By comparing images acquired at nominal focus with images featuring a known defocus, the system reconstructs wavefront errors using Zernike coefficients. This effective restoration methodology allows for high-precision spectropolarimetric observations by compensating for structural deformations in the telescope optics after flight deployment.
