This work evaluates the application of the IEEE 4001 standard to spaceborne hyperspectral imagers to standardize performance quantification and metadata. It provides a robust framework for predicting signal-to-noise ratios and managing sensor-related artifacts throughout the mission lifecycle. The standard enables better downstream data use and unified instrument characterization.
