The IASI-NG interferometer advances the legacy of its predecessor by dividing spectral resolution and radiometric error by a factor of two. The instrument employs a wide-field Mertz-compensated Fourier Transform Spectrometer design optimized for the 3.6 to 15.5 µm spectral range. These hardware innovations, paired with advanced onboard calibration processes, enable superior operational meteorology and atmospheric chemistry monitoring.
