The Vigil Heliospheric Imager is an operational visible-light radiometer designed for continuous space weather monitoring from the L5 Lagrange point. By utilizing a dual-camera architecture, it provides mid-course tracking of Coronal Mass Ejections to improve arrival-time predictions at Earth. The system is specifically engineered with complex straylight control to detect faint signals against high background levels, ensuring high-availability operational data.
